To prepare for your sleep test, follow your normal sleep routine to avoid being too tired or too rested. Avoid naps for 2-3 days before the test. Continue taking your regular medications unless instructed otherwise by your physician. Refrain from consuming caffeine after lunch on the day of your study. Take a shower or bath before your test, and wash and dry your hair without using any hair products. Avoid wearing makeup, fingernail polish, or fake nails. Eat a regular dinner before arriving and bring any snacks or drinks you may want.
For your sleep study, bring comfortable sleepwear (preferably with a button-down front), slippers or thick socks, and your favorite pillow or blanket. While we provide bedding, having your own may help you sleep better. Also, bring toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush or comb), clothes for the next day, any evening medications, and something to read like a book or magazine.
