  • How do I prepare for a sleep test?
Try to follow your normal sleep routine during this time so you will not be too tired or too rested for your sleep test. Do not take any naps for 2 to 3 days before your test. Unless instructed otherwise by your Physician, continue to take your regular medications. Do not drink any caffeine after lunch on the day of your study. Take a shower or bath before your test. Wash and dry your hair but do not use any hair products, such as gels, hairsprays or heavy conditioners because it may prevent the electrodes from sticking to your scalp. Do not wear makeup, fingernail polish, or fake nails, because some of the test equipment will be placed on your face and fingers. Eat a regular dinner before arriving and bring snacks/drinks if you would like.
  • What should I bring with me to the sleep study?
Nightgown, pajamas or any comfortable sleep wear, preferably with a button-down front. Slippers or thick socks. Your favorite pillow or blanket. We will provide beddings including sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels, but yours may help you sleep better. Toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush or comb. Clothes for the following day. Medicines you usually take in the evening. A book or reading materials.
  • What services does the Sleep Clinic offer?
The Sleep Clinic offers a variety of services including consultations with qualified doctors, overnight sleep studies conducted by certified technologists, CPAP and BiPAP titration studies, pulmonary function tests, and GCAA-approved CPAP compliance reports for pilots and air traffic controllers.
